The San Martino de Tours Parish Church

The San Martino de Tours Parish Church

The churchyard of Piazza SS Redentore with the imposing facade of the San Martino de Tours parish church in baroque style dating back to the 18th century is indeed surprising. Recently the interior was accurately restored to its original beauty. In the first chapel on the left, one can admire a fresco dated 16th century, Madonna with Child. The next chapel and the high altare are outstanding works by the Fantoni's workshop from Rovetta. The webbings in the cupola above the high altar are the remarkable work of Francesco Monti, who evokes the shape and tones of Gianbattista Tiepolo.
Adjacent to the parish church, you find the Church of San Rocco, a former small chapel. It was built in 1630 by the followers of San Rocco, so he might to protect them from the contagion of plagues.
