Forcella-Molere Path

The trail Forcella-Molere develops along the ridge of the hill behind the town of Sarnico, about 400 meters above sea level, in a panoramic position on Lake Iseo; it is a hilly path characterized by two particular elements: the first to be surrounded by coppices; the second to face south towards the panorama of the lower Sebino.

The route, redeveloped in its course and made easy and accessible, is the main axis of a network of routes that continue from Forcella to the neighboring municipalities of Predore and Viadanica.

The route proposed in the first section is articulated on the Trans Padana Centrale (TPC), the backbone of all hiking trails in the area; from the parking of the Poste on the Corso Europa, follow the Via Faletto, then continue on the path called "Path of the Madonna" in the shade of olive trees and cypresses, which give a typical Mediterranean atmosphere to the surrounding environment.

After reaching the lovely chapel consecrated to the Virgin, Altitude Mt. 398, from which you can enjoy a splendid view of the lake, You walk on a precious and well-preserved paved path, with steps in sandstone of Sarnico and side grooves in cobblestone.

Shortly reach the fork of the Forcella, turn left following a paved path as you continue and rise above the woods, in a scenario increasingly interesting, both from the point of view of landscape and nature.

After a few minutes from the Forcella, the route continues, following the signs, along the ridge of the hill, characterized by a splendid panoramic view of the urban center of Sarnico, the outlet of Lake Iseo, and the river Oglio. Continue, within a large wooded area,  through pleasant ups and downs interrupted only by some equipped panoramic pitches, ideal for a stop and rest.

After passing the Molere area, the most evocative part of the route, you can reach the "Rocca de' Zucchellis", an ancient outpost for the defense of the territory, built in the second half of the 13th century.

The path, well signposted, ends near Cerro Alto, not far from the village of Castione, a precious historical nucleus represented by the Church of SS. Nazario and Rocco and the Rocchetta.
