The Pyramids of Erosion of Zone
Along the eastern shore of Lake Iseo, SS 510, you reach Marone and from here take the detour to Zone.
After about 8 km of ascent, you reach Cislano, a hamlet of the municipality of Zone, where convenient parking with a playground is the starting point of this route (church of S. Giorgio XII sec.).
The path winds through a forest, is well signposted with various stopping points to observe the earth's pyramids, and is rich in educational tables that illustrate the formation of this geological phenomenon due to the characteristics of the morainic terrain, and the erosion of rainwater.
The largest of these pyramids reaches 30 m. in height, has a diameter at the base of about 8 m., and is topped by a boulder with a diameter of about 4 m.
